Kanu's whereabout is not within my knowledge:Abaribe

Troubled representative speaking to Abia South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has denied the claim by the Federal Government that the pioneer of the banished Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is in his care.



The Federal Government had before answered to Abaribe's application trying to pull back as one of the sureties for Kanu, depicting the application as tardy.

The legislature in its counter-sworn statement and composed address documented under the watchful eye of the Federal High Court in Abuja to contradict Abaribe's ask for, told the congressperson that Kanu was in his guardianship and he needed to create him for the continuation of his trial.

In any case, Abaribe in a reaction to an inquiry on whether Kanu was quite his authority, the congressperson in an instant message stated, "I don't know where he is."

The indicting counsel, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran, contended in the composed address that Abaribe "flopped woefully" by supposedly supporting and abetting Kanu to mock his safeguard conditions.

Denying that Kanu was not in the guardianship of the Nigerian Army, the Federal Government expressed in its counter-affirmation that the litigant was in Abaribe's care.

Abaribe however denied Kanu's whereabouts.

"I don't know where he is. However, that is an inquiry that will be settled by the suit we have organized," he expressed.

Kanu was missing from court when his case came up on October 17, 2017, yet his co-respondents with whom he was being indicted on charges of treasonable crime were delivered in court by jail authorities.

In the interim, the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday settled November 14 for the becoming aware of the application recorded by IPOB to challenge its banishment.

The suit was planned for hearing before Justice Abdu Kafarati, who is the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, on Wednesday, however it was learnt that the judge was truant from court as he was said to go to a course somewhere else.

Court enlistment centers were said to have settled November 14 for hearing under the guideline of the judge.

IPOB's attorney, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said on Monday that the Federal Government presently couldn't seem to react to the application.

IPOB had on September 22 requested that the court put aside the requests banishing it and assigning it as a fear based oppressor gathering.
