Bank on fire
A branch of Access Bank in Ikotun Lagos State was gutted by flame on Tuesday, devastating the Automated Teller Machines display on the bank premises.
It was learnt that the fire started off around 4 pm from a defective aeration and cooling system at the display and spread to the machines.
The fire allegedly seethed for around three hours previously it was put out by authorities of the Lagos State Fire Service prepared to the bank.
The fire benefit chief, Mr Rasaq Fadipe, who affirmed the occurrence, said two fire trucks were sent in the territory.
He said his men could keep the fire from spreading to alternate parts of the bank.
He stated, "The fire influenced the batteries and inverters of the ATMs, numbering around six. The place was intensely smoke-logged and we needed to utilize a forklift and different device to access put out the fire. The batteries are around 200 voltages each."
An authority of Access Bank, who did not need his name in print, said the fire radiated from a failing AC in the exhibition.
